Ankara University was established in 1946 and is the first one founded in Turkey after the formation of the republic. It is one of the main Turkish public Universities involving 19 faculties, 1 conservatory, 1 college, 12 vocational schools, 14 institutes, 44 research & application centers, 333 master, 246 PhD, 48 graduate, and 113 undergraduate programs. AU is able to provide the structural, and administrative support to the PI and its unit member for efficiently carrying out all activities of GreenDriedFruits for the whole duration of the project.

Prof. Mevlut EMEKCI

Prof. Mevlut EMEKCI (PI) is Full Professor and Head of the Entomology Section of the Department of Plant Protection of Faculty of Agriculture of Ankara University, which covers major fields of Applied Life Sciences, Biotechnology, and Molecular Engineering in Plant Protection of the LS domain of ERC. He also serves as the Chair of the Plant health Commission of Turkish Republic Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. He is co-founder of the Stored Products Pests Laboratory of Ankara University. His research focuses postharvest pests control of fresh & dried fruits and nuts, grains & pulses, tobacco, textile, timber, etc. including chemical fumigants & residual insecticides, inert dusts, modified-controlled atmospheres, low-high temperatures, and low-high pressures.
