ACUA
ACUA collects, packs, and exports “Gulf” and “Provincial” Currant varieties for 60% of the entire Greek annual production. ACUA manages approximately 90% of the “Vostizza P.D.O.” high quality Currant. ACUA SA exports Currants to almost all over the world; with the main markets in EU, Australia, USA etc. The modern production facilities comply with the strictest food industry specifications and they meet all modern H&S standards. All production procedures are certified to ISO 9001, ISO 22000, BRC, KOSHER, HALAL and GLOBALGAP standards. The Quality Control Labs are accredited according to ISO 17025.

Mr. Michalis Karvelas
Mr. Michalis Karvelas (PI) graduated in 2002 from the Chemistry Department and holds a master’s degree in environmental chemistry from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (2004) and in 2015 obtained a Master of Science (MBA) in Business Administration from the Hellenic Open University. From 2006 to 2016, he worked at the Currants Cooperative (SKOS) with an active participation and coordinating role in the research project team dealing with clinical studies on the ingredients of the currant and their beneficial properties in health. From early 2017 until today he works on a secondment basis at the Agricultural Cooperatives Union of Aeghion SA, as a Research Project Manager.
